The Department of Health was awarded the Rape Prevention and Education Program grant through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), originally in 2006. At that time and every year since, the Department has entered into a cooperative agreement with Respect Together and the Pennsylvania Coalition to Advance Respect (PCAR). The agreement is established to provide sexual violence prevention and education programming throughout Pennsylvania. The Department and PCAR, along with local rape crisis centers continue to develop, implement, and evaluate primary prevention strategies targeting specific populations across the commonwealth. The Department will continue this work with PCAR and the CDC.
