COVID-19 Variants Are Expected

Viral outbreaks can come in waves. Viruses constantly change through mutation and sometimes these mutations result in a new variant of the virus. Some changes and mutations allow the virus to spread more easily or make it resistant to treatments or vaccines. As the virus spreads, it may change and become harder to stop.​

If you are looking for support from the experts, the Bureau of Epidemiology's Workplace Team is a free resource developed to support the PA businesses.

Workplace team members are available to:

  • Collaborate with workers, employers, and health & safety managers to respond to and prevent outbreaks of common infectious diseases.
  • Monitor COVID-19 levels amongst counties with increased case-counts in order to serve businesses that may be at higher risk of developing COVID-19 outbreaks.
  • Provides the latest health and safety guidance from CDC and PA DOH to help curb and mitigate the spread of disease amongst businesses.
